Kamikita Komari

First figure review so let's have at it!

This is the Bandai 1/8 scale Kamikita Komari from the manga Little Busters!
Picked her up on boxing day and have had her on my desk ever since.

First of all, I'd like to say that this is just moe in a box. The facial expression, the scarf, the hair point, it's all just too much >w<

I paid about 70$ for this, which is a bit overpriced. Though, considering it was bought from Sakura Media and not from another figure store in vancouver, it's quite average. Seriously, get your manga there, but don't be caught by those figure/model prices....

She comes on a nicely airbrushed base that looks like a floor made of wood boards. Only problem is, there's no way to attach her. Though, considering that this girl is in such a pose, pegs probably wouldn't be too good of an idea ^^"
There are some general paint inconsitencies all around on her. On the scarf there's alot of dust that was trapped in the paint while it was drying. You can see it it the grooves of the scarf on both ends. Still, the paint lines are relatively well inside the molding lines, so it make up for it.

The flash lines on her arms and parts of her legs are visible, but the ones on her sleeves fall along the seam of her sweater. It's still a bit unsightly to a perfectionist like me, but most people can ignore it. The actual paint used is quite nice however. Only a few bits of dust trapped here and there take away from it. Very nice overall colour scheme and average paint application.

And now, let's get to the real reason I bought this figure. The pantsu.
They're just too perfect.

Just as well, her skirt is removeable, so you can get an ever better view ^^
I keep mine cast-on though, since I just love the little peek like this. I also just love striped pantsu >w<

Strange story to accompany this. I was talking to a friend on msn last night about Komari. I started to say that there was a large problem that I found when I got her out of the box. My friend asked, "What, is she having her period?"
".......kinda."
"..."
By her period, I meant that she had a tiny spot of red paint, on the absolute most perfect spot to recreate this comment =3=
It was an easy fix, all I did was put a bit of white paint over it and it dissapeared, but man.......
Still, very nice pantsu on her. Just love those stripes!!! >w<
In this pic you can see the little bits of dust I was talking about near the connection to her left thigh. Still irresistable.
Overall, an average figure. Still, very much worth it for fans of striped pantsu like me.
Pure moe in a box.
7/10
Thanks to my friend Morgan for use of his camera

Xmas Haul

So this is 90% of what I got for xmas/boxing day this year. I'm so happy to have a professional modeller for a parent =w=

My dad got my mom to go half in on an airbrush/aircompressor for my present. It's a Badger airbrush, and apparently, it's insane. I don't know, this is my first airbrush ever. And with that, I also got around 300$ in place of present from various relatives that I spent today. I can't say that it was worth the boxing day crowds, but I did get some pretty nice stuff.

I managed to get ahold of both the Yui and Minori figures from Koharu Biyori. Just read the first 2 chapters of the manga. Not really suprised at the ecchi, but I am suprised that such figures come from a non-h series...

Saw them in the August issue of Dengeki, and figured they'd be one of those figures that I'd see online but never actually aquire them. But, after I went to Ages and got the Tsukino figure that I missed about a week back due to 1 dollar, I stopped in at Sakura. They just happened to have both of these girls, and it was buy one, get one 50% off. Seemed like a good deal ^^

Also got myself a figure of one of the girls from Little Busters! I haven't gotten around to the manga yet, but I might eventually, so I know nothing about her atm. And, after all you can eat at fish on rice for an hour, me and my friend stopped by Crystal Mall, and I had an impulse buy of a very nice old illustration of the Zeta and a Rick Dias, printed on what seems to be a cross between and cutting board and a mousepad. I can't tell, but it just looks cool.

The Yui and Minori figures were bought for one real reason though. They can gattai. >w< Depending on how much money I get this sunday, I may be able to get a serious camera so I can actually review these girls. Moreso, it depends on if I won't get trampled at an electronics store when I go to buy it. Literally, it took me and my friends 10 mins to enter and leave future shop, after spending 8 of those 10 mins moving through a line that seemed more like a moshpit than anything. Just thought we'd "stop in" to blow some time until the stores in Crystal opened....If I do, then look forward to a review of both Yui and Minori. Should have some new art posted sometime this week as well.

It Begins

"hajimeruka....."

To introduce myself, I'm a "young" artist/plamodeller/guitarist/otaku living in the snowed in part of Vancouver. I've been posting on deviantart since 2004, but after seeing what it's become, I decided that I really need my own site. So many idiots.....

I will be posting all of my art from now on here and once I get my camera, figure and model reviews, and general workings and distresses of my life.

Here's a little something of a 2d girl to make my page look a little less bleak. One of mine from last week sometime. Should have new girls posted around boxing day.
